The Norwegian Athletics Association (NFIF), was founded on May 1, 1896, under the name Norsk Idrætsforbund. At the same time, Norway is internationally recognized for its involvement in the organization of continental athletic events, including the first European Championship after World War II in 1946 and the European Team Championships in 2010.
Norwegian athletics is currently going through one of the great periods in its history. This was demonstrated by the three gold medals won at the European Championships in Berlin in 2018 by Karsten Warholm and Jakob Ingebrigtsen. To which are added their subsequent successes at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow, in 2019.
At the previous edition, the eighth, Norway competed in this second value league in which it will also evolve on “Cluj Arena”.
